SIBT: Reference with Harvard

Academic Articles in Hard Copy, Word or PDF Formats

The following details should be provided for journal articles in a reference list:

  • Author's surname, followed by initials
  • Year of publication
  • The article title in single quotation marks
  • The journal series in italics
  • The volume and number (sometimes called issue)
  • The page range e.g. pp.1-10

  • The volume and number if available
  • viewed followed by the full date of viewing
  • <the URL in chevrons (pointy brackets) >
