Computers, Printing and Technology (Technology Help)

Campus computers, WiFi, printing, copying and scanning, useful software.

On campus printing is available for Word Documents, PDFs, and PowerPoint Presentations. You can print from library computers, your own computer, from a USB, or by email. Each of these options requires different steps, which are provided below.

Scanning is available free of charge.

Printing from Library Computers

Load printing jobs to Papercut: https://papercutstudents.navitas.com. A small Papercut screen is usually visible on the computer desktop, which displays your printing credit. You can click "details" to open Papercut.

  1. In Papercut, enter your student portal login details.
  2. Select Web Print from the options on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. Click on Submit a Job.
  4. Select your campus location (an important step!).
  5. Click on Print Options and Account Selection, if prompted.
  6. Click on Upload Documents.
  7. Upload your document.
  8. Click on Upload & Complete.
  9. After uploading your print job, go to the printer and log in using your student portal details to release the job.

Printing from your Laptop or Device

  1. Upload your print job by going to https://libguides.navitas.com (library home page). Scroll down to the footer and select Campus Printing.
  2. Enter your student portal login details.
  3. Select Web Print from the options on the left-hand side of the screen.
  4. Click on Submit a Job.
  5. Select your campus location (an important step!).
  6. Click on Print Options and Account Selection.
  7. Click on Upload Documents.
  8. Upload your document.
  9. Click on Upload & Complete.
  10. Release your print job from the photocopier by going to the photocopier and tap the screen. Enter your student portal log in details and follow the prompts to release your print job  

Printing from USB

To print from a USB, save the document in PDF format to your USB and log in to the photocopier using your student portal login details. Follow the prompts to release your print job (the USB port is located on the side of each photocopier).

Printing from email

You can print documents by emailing them to papercut.printsvc@my.acap.edu.au using your ACAP student email address. You must follow the steps below carefully.

Steps to Print:

1. Connect to the Network. Make sure your device is connected to the Navitas Students Wi-Fi or use a student computer on campus.

2. Send Your Document. Log in to your ACAP student email, attach the file you want to print, and email it to: papercut.printsvc@my.acap.edu.au

3. Verify Your Account. Check your ACAP email for a one-time verification link and click it to confirm your account.

4. Log In to Print. Use your student ID and password (same as your ACAP portal login) when prompted. Click OK to confirm.

5. Release Your Print Job. Go to any student printer, log in using your student ID and password, and select your document from the list of pending print jobs to release it

Adding Credit

The library does not accept cash. Printing credit is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Printing credit can be topped up using the Flywire payment system.

Click on this link https://payment.flywire.com/pay/payment and follow the prompts to pay for your printing credit top up.

Once you have completed this, please show your receipt/screenshot of the completed transaction to the librarian at the loans desk so that the credit can be added to your printing account. You must show this receipt for the credit to be uploaded.
 

A4 Paper

Black & White Charges A4: $0.11 one sided | $0.19 double sided
Colour Charges A4: $0.34 one sided | $0.60 double sided

A3 Paper

Black & White Charges A3: $0.21 one sided | $0.36 double sided
Colour Charges A3: $0.68 one sided | $1.30 double sided

Worried about spending too much?

Before you release your print job, press the large "print release" button on the printer. There, you can select your print job and make sure the settings are correct, e.g. greyscale instead of colour printing.

Scanning

Campus photocopiers can be used to scan material to email or directly to a USB drive. Scanning is a free service to enrolled students.

Copyright

For text based resources, you may copy and communicate a ‘reasonable portion'. Generally, a reasonable portion is considered:

  • One chapter of a book, or 10% of the pages (10% of the words if the work is in electronic form).
  • One article from a journal or newspaper (more if the articles are on the same subject matter in a special edition).
  • All of an artistic work, for example: a diagram or photo (when not available for separate purchase).
